University of Camagüey

Who are we?

The first information about the institution’s emergence appeared in the newspaper “Adelante” on September 24, 1967, in the article: “The University of Camagüey, a Reality,” written by the prominent Camagüeyan writer Raúl González de Cascorro.
The University is once again providing opportunities for higher education by creating a university center in this province, which for the time being will comprise three faculties. It is important to clarify that these are the first steps being taken so that in the not-too-distant future, Camagüey will have its own university.
First and foremost, the training of highly qualified professionals is crucial to help win the battle for agriculture in Camagüey. Equally important is the professional development of mid-level managers involved in production.
